Role Context

The Mechanical Inspector will provide day-to-day technical oversight of mechanical works throughout construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover. The position ensures that HVAC, plumbing, mechanical equipment, and associated systems are installed correctly, tested thoroughly, and documented in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contractual requirements, safety procedures, and applicable standards. By detecting defects early and coordinating corrective action with contractors and engineering teams, the inspector helps reduce rework, protect project schedules, improve system reliability, and maintain consistent construction quality.

The role also supports accurate project records and provides technical guidance to site personnel when inspection or compliance issues arise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect HVAC, plumbing, mechanical equipment, and associated building services during installation and completion stages.
  • Verify mechanical works against approved drawings, technical specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable UAE construction standards.
  • Supervise contractors and installation teams to ensure acceptable workmanship and compliance with established quality procedures.
  • Witness mechanical testing and commissioning activities and confirm that systems perform according to approved requirements.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports identifying observations, defects, non-conformances, and required corrective measures.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, material information, and installation details before accepting completed works.
  • Identify potential safety hazards associated with mechanical installations and coordinate corrective actions with relevant site teams.
  • Monitor rectification of rejected or non-compliant works and verify satisfactory closure before approval.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, certificates, approvals, photographs, and technical correspondence.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and other disciplines to resolve mechanical interface issues.
  • Provide clear technical recommendations where system installation, performance, or safety can be improved.
  • Monitor mechanical equipment condition and highlight potential maintenance, replacement, or performance concerns.
  • Support quality assurance activities throughout the construction lifecycle and verify compliance with project inspection procedures.
  • Guide junior inspectors and site personnel on inspection requirements, documentation standards, and mechanical quality practices.
  • Use inspection software, digital documentation platforms, and data management tools to maintain traceable project records.
  • Manage multiple inspection activities while ensuring priority works receive timely review and follow-up.
Ideal Profile

Candidates should have at least 6 years of professional experience in mechanical inspection, construction supervision, quality assurance, commissioning, or a closely related construction environment. Strong practical knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing installations, mechanical equipment, testing procedures, building services coordination, and construction quality requirements is essential. Candidates should also understand UAE construction regulations and relevant international codes used for mechanical systems. Experience supervising contractors and installation personnel is important, together with the ability to identify defects, evaluate corrective measures, and make sound technical decisions under site pressure.

Proficiency in technical documentation, blueprint interpretation, CAD applications, inspection software, project management platforms, and digital reporting tools will support effective performance.
