We are supporting a major high-speed railway infrastructure project in the UAE and are seeking an experienced Trackwork Construction Manager to lead the delivery of track construction activities across a large-scale rail programme.
Job DescriptionThe Trackwork Construction Manager will be responsible for the overall management, coordination and execution of track construction activities across approximately 150 km of high-speed railway alignment

This is a senior construction leadership role requiring extensive railway trackwork experience, strong production and work-front management capabilities, and proven experience managing large multidisciplinary construction teams.
The successful candidate will directly manage and coordinate approximately 20 site supervisors, section managers, trackwork engineers and technical personnel
, ensuring that construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications, approved methodologies and the overall project schedule.
Manage and coordinate all trackwork construction activities across the high-speed railway alignment.
Lead the construction of both ballasted track and slab track systems.
Manage track installation, alignment, levelling, tamping, welding and associated trackwork activities.
Plan and coordinate construction works in line with project milestones, interfaces and critical-path activities.
Directly manage approximately 20 construction supervisors, section managers and trackwork engineers.
Allocate manpower, resources, plant and equipment according to construction priorities and production requirements.
Establish and monitor daily, weekly and monthly production targets.
Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), drawings and technical specifications.
Monitor productivity, progress and quality of track construction activities and implement corrective actions where required.
Ensure proper sequencing and handover of work fronts to maintain continuous construction progress.
Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, including safe working practices, risk assessments, permits and site procedures.
Work closely with the Quality team to ensure all trackwork complies with project standards and high-speed railway requirements.
Participate in construction planning meetings, progress reviews and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
Review and contribute to construction methodologies, temporary works, logistics and work-front strategies.
Identify construction risks, constraints and potential delays and develop mitigation and recovery plans.
Monitor and control the use of trackwork materials, plant and equipment.
Ensure accurate reporting of progress, productivity, resources and construction issues.
Support testing, inspection, commissioning and final handover of completed track sections.
Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement.
The position requires strong leadership and coordination capabilities, with responsibility for structuring and managing a substantial field-based construction team.
The Trackwork Construction Manager will:
Set clear objectives and production targets for trackwork teams.
Coordinate activities between different construction sections and work fronts.
Develop and mentor site management and supervisory personnel.
Monitor individual and team performance.
Ensure effective communication between field teams, engineering, planning, quality and project management.
Drive a collaborative and results-oriented construction culture.
The successful candidate should have extensive experience in railway track construction, preferably on major high-speed railway projects, including:
Ballasted track construction.
Slab track construction.
High-speed railway track systems.
Track geometry, alignment and levelling.
Rail welding and rail stressing.
Track installation and adjustment.
Tamping and stabilisation operations.
Track construction logistics and work-front management.
Construction planning and production control.
Interface management with civil engineering and railway systems.
