Scope: SMP Construction

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager – Piping to lead and manage piping construction activities for a major Oil & Gas / Petrochemical project in Ruwais.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead piping fabrication, erection, welding, NDT, PWHT, supports, hydrotesting, reinstatement and Mechanical Completion.
• Plan and execute piping activities in line with approved schedules and construction priorities.
• Manage large site teams including Engineers, Superintendents, Supervisors, Foremen, Fitters, Welders and Helpers.
• Monitor productivity, inch-dia/WDI, welding output, progress and test-pack completion.
• Develop recovery plans and corrective actions to achieve project targets.
• Ensure availability of work fronts, materials, equipment, scaffolding and lifting resources.
• Coordinate with Samsung E&A, Engineering, QA/QC, HSE, Planning, Material Control and other disciplines.
• Review piping isometrics, P&IDs, GA drawings, specifications and construction priorities.
• Coordinate piping interfaces with static/rotating equipment, structures, E&I and civil works.
• Ensure compliance with approved WPS/PQR, welding procedures, NDT and project quality requirements.
• Drive hydrotesting, punch clearance, reinstatement and system handover towards Mechanical Completion.
• Ensure compliance with Samsung E&A, TA’ZIZ / ADNOC and company HSE requirements.
• Identify construction constraints, delays, additional works and potential variation/claim events.
• Participate in client progress and coordination meetings and provide accurate construction updates.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years of Oil & Gas / Petrochemical construction experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior Piping Construction Manager / Piping Superintendent position.
• Strong hands‑on experience in large‑scale piping fabrication and erection.
• SMP / MEI construction contractor experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3 and ASME Section IX.
• Strong knowledge of Welding & NDT, PWHT, Hydrotesting, Flange Management, Piping Supports, Test Packs and Mechanical Completion.
• UAE / GCC construction experience strongly preferred.
• Previous ADNOC project experience highly preferred.
• Experience with major EPC contractors such as Samsung E&A, Petrofac, Technip, Saipem, McDermott, Hyundai or equivalent is an advantage.
• Proven experience managing large multicultural construction teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, planning and client coordination skills.
• Immediate / early availability for deployment to Ruwais is preferred.

PREFERRED PROFILE

A hands‑on, results‑driven Construction Manager capable of independently managing a large piping scope from fabrication and erection through testing, reinstatement and Mechanical Completion, while maintaining high standards of HSE, Quality, Productivity and Schedule Performance.
