The Civil Construction Manager will provide senior site leadership across major construction activities, connecting design requirements with safe and efficient field execution. The role carries responsibility for contractor performance, workmanship, technical compliance, schedules, budgets, documentation, and quality assurance. Effective management of these interfaces will help prevent delays and rework while maintaining visibility over project risks, costs, and critical deliverables.
Key Responsibilities- Direct civil construction activities and maintain oversight of project execution against approved scope, specifications, schedules, and quality requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections covering workmanship, construction methods, materials, and progress.
- Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, site teams, and labor resources to maintain efficient sequencing of construction activities.
- Review shop drawings and material submittals and coordinate timely technical responses.
- Assess proposed change orders and support evaluation of their technical, schedule, and cost implications.
- Identify construction discrepancies and field problems, determine appropriate solutions, and coordinate corrective action.
- Monitor project schedules and identify emerging delays or constraints before they affect critical milestones.
- Review budget performance and cost variances and recommend actions to maintain financial control.
- Coordinate material testing and quality assurance activities to verify conformity with project requirements.
- Maintain daily reports, inspection records, technical correspondence, construction logs, and other controlled project documentation.
- Work closely with clients, consultants, Project Managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve construction concerns.
- Track outstanding technical matters and ensure responsibilities and completion dates remain clearly defined.
- Prepare technical reports and management presentations covering progress, quality, risks, costs, and construction performance.
- Lead multidisciplinary coordination where civil works interface with other project disciplines.
- Promote compliance with applicable safety procedures, building codes, specifications, and construction standards.
- Support sustainable construction methods and environmentally responsible site practices where applicable.
- Coordinate vendor and supplier interfaces affecting construction progress and material availability.
- Apply risk management principles to identify, assess, and mitigate potential construction delivery issues.
- Use construction and project management systems to monitor progress, actions, documentation, and deliverables.
- Lead and develop project personnel while maintaining clear accountability for construction outcomes.
Candidates should bring at least 15 years of professional experience in civil construction project management, including substantial responsibility for large-scale and high-value projects. Strong knowledge of construction management methodologies, site supervision, quality assurance, cost control, scheduling, building regulations, and safe construction practices is required.
