Job Purpose

The Senior Construction Supervisor – Mechanical/Piping is responsible for supervising and coordinating mechanical and piping construction activities, ensuring safe execution, quality compliance, and completion in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, schedules, and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day mechanical and piping construction activities at site.
  • Monitor fabrication, erection, installation, alignment, testing, and reinstatement of piping systems and mechanical equipment.
  • Supervise installation of static and rotating equipment, piping, valves, supports, and associated mechanical works.
  • Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved IFC drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Monitor contractor manpower, equipment, productivity, and progress against the approved construction schedule.
  • Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, HSE, planning, materials, commissioning, and other construction disciplines.
  • Review piping isometrics, layouts, equipment drawings, tie-in requirements, and site modifications.
  • Coordinate piping tie-ins, shutdown activities, line checks, hydrotesting, flushing, reinstatement, and mechanical completion.
  • Ensure proper control and execution of welding activities, including fit-up, welding, NDT coordination, and weld repair requirements.
  • Monitor mechanical equipment installation, alignment, preservation, and readiness for pre-commissioning.
  • Identify construction constraints, material shortages, interface issues, and technical problems and coordinate timely resolution.
  • Ensure contractors comply with PTW, lifting, confined-space, working-at-height, and other applicable HSE requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections, RFIs, punch-list clearance, NCR resolution, and construction completion documentation.
  • Participate in construction progress meetings and provide updates on progress, constraints, priorities, and recovery actions.
  • Support mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, system handover, and final closeout activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institute
  • Minimum of fifteen (15+) years (12 years for UAE Nationals) of experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry including minimum five (5) years in GCC region.
  • Specific experience or qualification or training or technical certificate shall be provided if required and as applicable.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in similar position for major oil & gas / Marine Construction projects including minimum three (3) years projects in GCC region.
