Senior Construction Engineer - Civil

To lead and supervise civil engineering activities for overhead transmission line (OHTL) projects, ensuring the execution of tower foundations, earthworks, access roads, and associated civil works in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, client requirements, and applicable standards, while maintaining quality, safety, and project schedule.

• Lead and supervise civil engineering activities for high-voltage overhead transmission line projects, including 132kV, 220kV, and 400kV transmission lines.
• Supervise execution of tower foundations, excavation, reinforcement, concrete works, back filling, and foundation testing activities.
• Monitor tower foundation construction activities, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, design requirements, and project specifications.
• Review and interpret civil drawings, foundation design details, geotechnical reports, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with survey teams to ensure accurate tower locations, foundation setting-out, and alignment.
• Supervise access road construction, site preparation, temporary works, and other associated civil infrastructure.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, survey, and project management teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor civil construction progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to achieve project milestones.
• Ensure civil works are executed in accordance with approved method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and applicable engineering standards.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers regarding civil construction activities and technical matters.
• Review technical submittals, material approvals, RFIs, and construction-related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, environmental regulations, and site safety procedures.
• Identify technical risks, propose engineering solutions, and support value engineering initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and supervision to civil engineers, site engineers, and construction teams.
• Support foundation inspections, testing, project handover, and preparation of final civil documentation.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering works for overhead transmission line projects.
• Strong experience in 132kV, 220kV, and 400kV OHTL construction projects.
• Extensive knowledge of tower foundation construction, including excavation, reinforcement, concrete works, back filling, and foundation testing
• TAQA-approved or TAQA-competent candidates will be considered an added advantage
• Strong experience in 132kV, 220kV, and 400kV substation construction projects.
• Extensive knowledge of substation civil works, including foundations, earthworks, concrete structures, cable trenches, duct banks, roads, and drainage systems.
• Experience in reviewing civil drawings, technical specifications, BOQs, and method statements.
