Responsibilities
The Senior Architect will oversee the full spectrum of architecture design, managing different asset types and leading work on specific elements of a project with minimal direction and supervision of a Senior Architect or senior team member. Your role includes managing scope and schedule, ensuring alignment with project objectives and compliance with project requirements and design standards.
Support integration of design packages across disciplines and champion safety in design principles and implementation. Deliver the architecture mandate as part of the Senior Management team, including stakeholder engagement, and manage the design process creatively, emphasizing aesthetic excellence.
Collaborate with the Design Group, Delivery team, and Project team on design delivery from concept to completion. Deliver architectural designs for diverse typologies—residential, mixed‑use, commercial, public, healthcare, educational, civic, cultural, etc.—and prepare, develop, and edit drawings and presentations effectively.
Supervise production from visualization through pre‑concept, concept, developed, and detailed design stages. Lead qualitative architectural design reviews, offering analysis, comments, and recommendations to Executive Management. Oversee and manage Architects, Designers, Managers, and Professionals within the department.
Draft comprehensive architectural documentation from concept through detailed design. Ensure design and asset brief compliance, maintaining accuracy and completeness. Develop and review architectural asset briefs, manuals, and standard design documents. Oversee preparation of materials schedules, sample boards, FF&E schedules, sourcing, and mock‑ups.
Solve design issues creatively while adhering to budget and design approach. Communicate and coordinate with consultants, contractors, and NEOM departments. Lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering complex, high‑profile projects.
Provide strategic guidance on technical design standards and philosophy. Monitor technical compliance throughout design and construction phases. Conduct design reviews and recommend solutions aligned with business goals and global standards.
Prepare and track relevant Capex documentation. Build consensus among team members to ensure the best contributions.
QualificationsKnowledge:
Understanding of financial and commercial project management. Comprehensive knowledge of risk management, scope definition, and scope interfaces. Full knowledge of international standards, policies, codes, and procedures. Familiarity with statutory authorities requirements and sustainable design principles. Expertise in architectural and urban design to create holistic built environments.
Skills:
Excellent conceptual and aesthetic design skills. Fluent in English, with strong communication and negotiation skills. Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Suite;
Grasshopper and V‑Ray are a plus. Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and large‑scale projects. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and budgets. Proactive and self‑motivated with a flexible, collaborative attitude.
Experience:
22 years of architectural design and management experience post‑undergraduate. Proven expertise in managing international design consultants across sectors and typologies. Experience in residential, commercial, public, healthcare, and educational designs. Construction experience preferred. Demonstrated success in large, complex programs with a focus on quality and innovation.
B.Arch or
B.Sc. in Architecture from a recognized university. Postgraduate degree in Architecture or Urban Design. International accreditations (RIBA, AIA, or equivalent). Sustainability certifications (LEED, PQP, or equivalent) highly desirable.
