The Role
The overall job purpose of a Lead UX Designer is to create user experiences that are delightful, efficient, and effective. Lead UX Designers work with a variety of stakeholders to understand user needs, gather feedback, and iterate on designs until they are perfect. They also play a key role in ensuring that UX design is integrated into the overall product development process.
Key Responsibilities- Lead design efforts to create optimal user experiences, collaborating with cross‑functional teams and advocating for user‑centered design practices, and continuously iterating and improving designs based on user feedback and data analysis.
- Conduct research and reuse design standards and principles whenever possible, emphasizing the importance of not reinventing the wheel for trivial things and always keeping research in mind when approaching new design challenges.
- Help the team as a Lead UI/UX designer by collaborating across various departments and disciplines to improve the quality of work and processes.
- Test and iterate on design solutions based on user feedback and data analysis.
- Design for complex and vague problems and deliver feasible results considering dependencies on technology, data, and other resources.
- Proactively manage expectations throughout the design and development lifecycle.
- Lead the UI/UX design team and mentor junior designers, including setting design standards, providing design critique, and helping designers develop both hard and soft skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Visual Design or any relevant comparable discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in UX design.
- Experience with user research, qualitative testing, and developing design systems or component libraries.
- Fluent in Figma or similar design software.
- Experience with design systems, wireframes, prototyping, user testing, and information architecture.
- Demonstrated experience using AI tooling for wire framing and rapid prototyping.
- Professional certifications or participation in NN group, Design masterclasses, UI and UX certification preferred.
- Strong design thinking and workshop facilitation capabilities.
- Excellent collaboration, leadership in design initiatives, and expectation management skills.
- Fluency in English;
Arabic is preferred.
