Landscape Draftsman

AKI/GCL is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Landscape Draftsman to join our dynamic team. The Draftsman will be responsible for producing high-quality technical drawings and plans for landscaping projects, supporting the design and construction teams in delivering exceptional outcomes. The role involves close coordination with internal teams, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure project drawings are accurate, compliant, and aligned with project goals.

• Create detailed construction drawings and technical plans for residential and commercial landscape projects using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Translate conceptual designs, sketches, and client specifications into precise technical drawings, including planting layouts, hardscape features, irrigation systems, and grading details.
• Conduct site visits to collect topographical and survey data for drafting reference.
• Collaborate with landscape designers, engineers, and contractors to ensure design intent is accurately represented and implemented.
• Prepare material quantity take-offs and assist with procurement planning based on approved drawings.
• Revise and update drawings as required during project development and construction phases.
• Maintain and submit accurate as-built drawings reflecting field conditions and changes.
• Ensure all drawings comply with local building codes, industry standards, and company procedures.
• Provide timely technical support and address design/drawing-related queries from project stakeholders.
• Maintain proper documentation and filing of all project-related drawings.

• Education: Diploma in Drafting, Architectural Studies, Civil Engineering, or related field. Drafting and Design certification preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Computer-Aided Drafting (2D and 3D) with a focus on landscape, civil, or architectural projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; knowledge of other landscape-specific CAD tools is an advantage.
• Experience with Project Wise or other document management systems is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of landscape construction techniques, plant materials, and irrigation systems.
