The Senior Architect will represent the architectural discipline during construction, ensuring that approved design intent is accurately translated into completed works. The position requires continuous coordination between drawings, specifications, materials, workmanship, site conditions, and contractor execution. Through technical reviews, inspections, field decisions, and disciplined project administration, the role will help prevent design deviations, reduce rework, maintain architectural quality, and resolve construction issues before they affect critical project milestones.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise architectural construction activities and verify execution against approved drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
- Conduct systematic site inspections to assess workmanship, materials, finishes, installation quality, and compliance with architectural standards.
- Review architectural works for conformity with applicable building codes, regulations, and project quality requirements.
- Examine shop drawings and confirm that proposed details accurately reflect approved design intent and coordinated project requirements.
- Assess material samples and architectural submittals for compliance with specified performance, appearance, and quality criteria.
- Review proposed construction methodologies affecting architectural works and identify potential technical or quality concerns.
- Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to clarify architectural requirements and resolve field queries efficiently.
- Evaluate discrepancies between site conditions and design documentation and develop practical technical solutions.
- Liaise with design teams when field conditions require clarification, refinement, or modification of architectural details.
- Monitor corrective works and verify that architectural non-conformances are satisfactorily resolved.
- Maintain detailed inspection logs, daily records, technical correspondence, change documentation, and other construction supervision records.
- Support review of change orders where architectural modifications affect project scope or delivery requirements.
- Monitor architectural progress and identify technical constraints that could affect construction schedules or project milestones.
- Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve interfaces between architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and other building systems.
