Specialist Physician-Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

The organization is seeking a compassionate physician to provide high-level pediatric intensive care. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating critically ill or injured children, coordinating care with the healthcare team, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing and implementing treatment plans tailored to pediatric patients.

Job Description
We are looking for a physician who can contribute to the care of pediatric patients in the ICU, with a focus on critical care, patient safety, and family-centered communication. The physician may work with other specialties as needed to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Examining patients, taking medical histories, addressing concerns, and answering questions.
  • Diagnosing and treating critical conditions in pediatric patients.
  • Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests and explaining results to patients and families.
  • Counseling families on treatment plans, medications, and potential outcomes.
  • Updating patient charts to reflect current findings and treatments.
  • Designing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Prescribing medications and therapies as appropriate.
  • Explaining medical procedures to patients and families.
  • Collaborating with other physicians, specialists, nurses, and healthcare staff.
  • Ensuring compliance with medical laws and privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
Qualifications
  • Medical degree with successful completion of residency and internship.
  • State license and board certification/eligibility to practice medicine.
  • Experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of pediatric illnesses.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Patience and compassion.
  • Commitment to staying up to date with advancements in pediatric critical care.
