Senior Aviation Medical Examiner

Job Description

Manage clinical caseload and provide medical expertise in Aviation Medicine to ensure best service to air crew compliant with regulatory standards and international best practice.

• Provide specialized care in accordance with HAAD rules and Civil Aviation regulations to ensure high-quality care delivery and determine fit-to-fly conditions
• Respond and handle medical emergencies in the Medical Centre clinical area providing required medical care to ensure patient health and safety
• Participate in review and planning activities relevant to specialist services in Medical Centre to increase operational efficiency
• Participate in medical audits as required by Health Authorities, Aviation and related Authorities for licensing requirements to ensure full compliance.
• Collect and analyse data on provided specialist services to report main insights to management
• Assist in formulation of policies and procedures and prepare directives governing aviation medicine and preventative medicine issues to ensure consistency in provided services and alignment to regulations
• Develop clinical care pathways with strategic healthcare provider partners to ensure seamless service for air crew
• Provide general medicine consultations when needed

• Minimum Diploma (2 years or more) in Medicine with post‑graduation qualification in Aviation Medicine field from institution recognized by the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi;
• Obtain a license from HAAD to practice within the specialty.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience within relevant field overall;
  Minimum of 5 years of work experience in aviation medicine specialty in health clinical/hospital since gaining higher qualification.
• High degree of awareness and understanding of HAAD/GCAA regulations and standards.
