Danat Al Emarat is a world-class specialty women’s and children’s hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It offers advanced medical services across specialties including Neonatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Women’s Health. The hospital is one of the very few to encompass a dedicated Fetal Medicine Department along with a full-fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the UAE. This has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies, supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns.
Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children is seeking a compassionate and skilled General Practitioner (GP) to provide high-quality, patient-centered healthcare services. The GP will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients across a broad range of medical conditions while ensuring continuity of care and appropriate referrals to specialists when required. The role involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional clinical outcomes and enhance patient experience.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions in accordance with evidence-based clinical guidelines.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans, including prescribing medications and monitoring patient progress.
- Provide preventive healthcare services, health education, and lifestyle counseling to patients and their families.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic investigations.
- Refer patients to specialists and coordinate care when advanced evaluation or treatment is required.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive medical records within the hospital’s electronic medical record system.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions to ensure integrated and coordinated patient care.
- Support quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and clinical governance activities.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, DOH regulations, and professional standards of practice.
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited internship program.
- Valid DOH License/Eligibility as a General Practitioner.
- Minimum 3 years of post-internship clinical experience, preferably within a hospital or primary care setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care, quality, and safety standards.
