Specialist Child Psychiatrist- Government Hospitals

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Child Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for children and adolescents.

The successful candidate will work closely with patients, families, schools, psychologists, therapists, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans and support the emotional, behavioral, and developmental well-being of young patients.

• Conduct risk assessments for self-harm, suicide, aggression, abuse, and neglect where clinically indicated.
• Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications when appropriate.
• Monitor treatment response, side effects, and medication adherence.
• Provide appropriate psychotherapy or coordinate psychological and behavioral interventions within the physician's scope of practice.
• Work closely with clinical psychologists, behavioral therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, pediatricians, neurologists, and other specialists.
• Provide family counseling, psychoeducation, and guidance regarding behavioral and emotional concerns.
• Coordinate care with schools and other relevant services when appropriate and with appropriate consent.
• Provide crisis assessment and management for children and adolescents requiring urgent psychiatric intervention.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
• Ensure safeguarding and child-protection procedures are followed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
• Provide education and support to parents, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality-improvement programs, CME/CPD activities, and professional education.
• Follow UAE healthcare regulations, facility policies, ethical standards, and patient-safety requirements.

• MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry

• Recognized subspecialty qualification/training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
  , where applicable.
• Current UAE professional license or eligibility for licensing.
• Valid BLS certification; additional certification may be required according to facility policy.
