Consultant Burns Surgeon - Acute Burn and Reconstructive Surgery

Allocation Assist Middle East is seeking an experienced Consultant Burns Surgeon for a specialist clinical team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical and medical management for patients with acute, severe, and complex burn injuries. The position encompasses emergency burn assessment, resuscitation, operative treatment, wound management, reconstructive surgery, and long-term rehabilitation.

This consultant-level role requires advanced surgical expertise in burn wound excision, debridement, skin grafting, and management of complex burn injuries. The surgeon will also provide clinical leadership in managing critically ill burn patients and coordinating care across multiple medical and surgical specialties.

Working closely with Plastic Surgery, Trauma Surgery, Intensive Care, Anesthesiology, Infectious Diseases, and Rehabilitation teams, the Consultant Burns Surgeon will deliver evidence-based, patient-centered treatment throughout the acute and recovery phases of burn care.

• Provide consultant-level assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients presenting with acute and complex burn injuries.
• Evaluate and treat thermal, chemical, electrical, and other types of burns.
• Assess burn depth, extent, severity, and associated clinical complications.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on injury characteristics and patient needs.
• Lead multidisciplinary clinical management for patients with major burn injuries.
• Coordinate timely surgical and medical interventions for complex burn cases.
• Participate in emergency burn services and appropriate on-call coverage.

• Perform surgical interventions for acute and complex burn injuries according to clinical indications.
• Undertake escharotomy and fasciotomy when required.
• Perform burn wound excision and surgical debridement.
• Carry out tangential excision procedures for appropriate burn injuries.
• Perform skin grafting and surgical wound coverage.
• Manage complex burn wounds requiring advanced operative treatment.
• Undertake reconstructive procedures for burn-related complications and long-term sequelae.
• Participate in scheduled burn theatre lists and emergency surgical procedures.
• Apply appropriate surgical techniques to support wound healing and functional recovery.

• Provide specialist management of acute burn resuscitation in collaboration with intensive care teams.
• Assess and manage patients with extensive burns and associated physiological complications.
• Coordinate critical care requirements for severely injured burn patients.
• Collaborate with intensivists, anesthesiologists, and other specialists in managing high-acuity burn cases.
• Monitor clinical progress and support appropriate adjustments to treatment plans.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary management of complex burn-related critical illness.
