Job Description

Aldar Academies is seeking a Music Teacher to join Bateen World Academy, a highly regarded British & IB World School located in Abu Dhabi. The role includes teaching, curriculum development, assessment, and extracurricular leadership across the Music department.

• Plan outstanding teaching and learning in line with the school's policy.
• Create a climate for learning that is conducive to excellence.
• Identify clear objectives, set targets and progress students.
• Incorporate differentiation for SEN (POD), EAL and G&T students.
• Use assessment for learning and performance data to inform planning.
• Use ICT to enhance learning.
• Maintain discipline following the “Behaviour for Learning” policy.
• Mark and record student work regularly and report to parents.
• Attend and support parent/student events.
• Develop curriculum plans, schemes of work and update subject knowledge.
• Lead or support after‑school ECA activities in Drama and Music.
• Lead/support school development projects and work with external agencies.
• Act as Academic Mentor and Extended Essay Supervisor for Year 12/13.
• Complete duty roster duties, cover colleagues and invigilate examinations.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Principal.

• Bachelor’s degree in Music with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

• Newly qualified teacher status (NQTS).

• Experience teaching students whose first language is not English.
• Passion for teaching and commitment to holistic child development.
• Professionalism and consideration for children's wellbeing.
• Consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
• Respectful of all school community members.
• Positive, solution‑focused attitude.
• Clear enhanced DBS or police check.
