Aldar Education is currently seeking an outstanding Teacher – KG for Yas American Academy in Abu Dhabi to start in March 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to join the highly successful Aldar family of schools and help shape the future of Abu Dhabi's leading school group.
Yas American Academy opened in September 2016, providing high‑quality education to the Emirate. Children are taught the Massachusetts Common Core Curriculum – tailored to be meaningful for the school community – alongside the local curriculum of Arabic, Islamic Studies and Social Studies. Facilities include a large astro‑turf field, two swimming pools, a well‑stocked library, a multi‑purpose sports hall, an auditorium and outdoor play areas.

Key Task:
- Deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Promote teamwork and collaboration.
- Develop positive relationships with all members of the school community.
- Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly.
- Collaborate with parents to ensure children's happiness and best academic outcomes.
Teaching and learning:
- Understand the curriculum thoroughly.
- Organise classroom provision and learning resources; create displays to foster a positive and engaging environment.
- Plan, prepare and present sessions catering to the whole ability range within the class.
- Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching.
- Observe and assess children in line with school assessments.
- Meet with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists when required.
Assessment and data:
- Take responsibility for class progress.
- Record students’ development using Target Tracker.
- Use data from assessments to inform further planning, provision and intervention.
- Provide feedback to parents and carers at Parent‑Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
Behaviour management and duties:
- Follow the school’s behaviour policy.
- Manage classes effectively, using approaches tailored to students’ needs to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
- Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively within the behaviour policy.
- Be a positive role model and consistently demonstrate the attitudes, values and behaviour expected of pupils.
Minimum Qualifications &
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related subject with an appropriate teaching qualification, e.g., Bachelor in Early Childhood.
- Minimum 2‑3 years of teaching experience in EYFS.
Job specific knowledge & skills:
- Experience working with students whose first language is not English.
- Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
- High level of professionalism and consideration for children's well‑being.
- Recent and consistent involvement in extra‑curricular activities.
- Positive and solution‑focused attitude toward work life.
- Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.
