Teacher - Primary (Immediate Start) - Pearl British Academy
Aldar Academies are currently seeking an outstanding Primary Teacher for the Pearl British Academy, commencing immediately. This is an exciting opportunity to join the highly successful Aldar family.
Candidates must have a secure knowledge of teaching the English National Curriculum and demonstrate a proven track record of implementing effective strategies to raise standards and plug gaps in learning to ensure outstanding progress for all. They will demonstrate leadership skills at a variety of levels and be effective in working collaboratively with a team. - Planning for outstanding teaching and learning, in line with the school’s Teaching and Learning Policy, through: creating a climate for learning that is conducive for outstanding practice.
- Identifying clear teaching and learning objectives.
- Setting clear targets, building on prior attainment.
- Identifying SEN (POD), EAL and G&T students and ensuring that their needs are met through differentiation.
- Providing clear structure and planning for lessons and learning activities that maintain pace, challenge and engagement.
- Making effective use of assessment for learning.
- Using performance data and key indicators to inform planning and delivery of differentiated lessons.
- Using ICT to enhance learning and progress.
- Maintaining discipline in accordance with the school’s ‘Behaviour for Learning Policy’ and encouraging good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homework.
- Assessing how well learning objectives have been achieved and using them to improve specific aspects of teaching and learning.
- Marking students’ work at least once every two weeks and setting targets for progress, in accordance with the school’s Marking Policy.
- Recording students’ progress systematically and keeping records, using performance data to inform planning, student learning and progress.
- Undertaking assessment of students as requested by examination bodies, department and school procedures.
- Preparing and presenting informative reports to parents.
- Attending and supporting parent/student events.
- Taking part in subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work.
- Meeting with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists, if required.
- Any other duties as assigned by the SLT.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
Minimum Experience
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience as a classroom teacher in the English curriculum.
