ADNOC Schools is currently seeking to recruit a Head of STEM to join our growing family of owned and operated schools. The position is senior, based at ADNOC Schools, and will support and work with all four at‑campaign campuses. ADNOC Schools are Massachusetts State Curriculum schools that provide high‑quality learning environments in Abu Dhabi City and the Western Region of the Abu Dhabi Emirate.

The role will start in August 2024.

Successful candidates will bring an excellent track record of leadership experience built in the UK, USA or other international settings, coupled with strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness. They will manage demands from board level to parents, teachers and principals, and act as a visible ambassador for the school.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop a comprehensive STEM curriculum, aligning with educational standards and best practices. Integrate cross‑disciplinary approaches that foster critical thinking, problem‑solving, and creativity among students. Stay current with advancements in STEM education and incorporate relevant technologies to prepare students for rapidly evolving fields.
  • Provide instructional leadership: guide and support teachers in implementing effective STEM teaching strategies; conduct regular observations, evaluations, and professional development sessions to improve teaching quality. Foster a collaborative and innovative teaching environment that inspires both students and educators.
  • Oversee all STEM‑related programs, activities and events within the school.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of STEM concepts across the curriculum.
  • Develop assessment tools and benchmarks, including improved MAP, EmSAT/AP scores, to measure student achievement and progress in STEM subjects.
  • Analyze data and utilize assessment results to drive continuous improvement in STEM programs.
  • Ensure equitable access and opportunities for all students to excel in STEM fields.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with external organizations, universities and industry professionals to enrich STEM education.
  • Organize STEM‑related workshops, guest lectures and career exploration opportunities for students.
  • Help students obtain STEM scholarships.
  • Engage parents, alumni and the wider community to support STEM initiatives and promote awareness.
  • Manage resources, budget allocation and procurement of materials and equipment for STEM initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM‑related field (Master’s preferred), with PGCE or another teacher qualification.
  • Master’s degree in Education.
  • Leadership/Management certification.
  • Administrative/Leadership certification.
  • Demonstrable experience managing College Board programming.
  • Six years’ experience, including four consecutive years of teaching performance that meets or exceeds standards, as evidenced by performance appraisal.
Job Specific Knowledge & Skills
  • Teaching certification and extensive experience in STEM education.
  • Leadership experience in a school setting or educational institution.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional best practices and assessment strategies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and organizational skills.
  • Passion for promoting STEM education and inspiring students to pursue careers in STEM fields.
  • Flexibility in work arrangements.
  • A high level of professionalism and consideration for the well‑being of children.
