Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed and achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in planning engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels and develop positive relationships with all members of the school community.
  • Plan and present sessions that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching.
  • Observe and assess children in line with school assessments and provide feedback to parents and carers.
  • Reflect on classroom provision, sessions taught, progress made, and adjust environment, planning and curriculum accordingly.
  • Attend meetings with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists, if required.
  • Embed the Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout the curriculum.
  • Follow the school’s behaviour policy, manage classes effectively, maintain good relationships with pupils, and act decisively when necessary.
  • Support wider professional responsibilities, including curriculum action groups, school events, and extra‑curricular activities.
Assessment and Data
  • Take responsibility for the progress of a class.
  • Meet requirements for assessment and recording of student development using Target Tracker.
  • Use data from assessments to inform planning, provision and intervention.
  • Provide feedback to parents and carers on student progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualification:

    Bachelor’s Degree in the related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification.
  • Minimum Experience:

    1–2 years of teaching experience.

    Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language; passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child; high level of professionalism and consideration of the well‑being of children; recent and consistent involvement in extra‑curricular activities; respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age and ethnic background; positive and solution‑focused attitude to working life;

    clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.
