In 2025, MBZUAI launched its first ever undergraduate program, a Bachelor of Science in AI, with two distinct streams:
Business and Engineering, and are looking for passionate and highly motivated Teaching Faculty.
The Undergraduate Division is seeking teaching faculty in Computer Vision and Image Processing to lead the course, "Machines that see," which introduces students to core computer vision concepts, a vital area of AI. This role involves delivering expert instruction on Image Processing Fundamentals (including image formation, filtering, and enhancement), feature extraction, object detection, and image classification, while covering both traditional methods and advanced deep learning techniques such as CNNs and Vision Transformers (ViTs).
The instructor's responsibilities include developing and maintaining up‑to‑date course materials, fostering a stimulating learning environment, supervising student projects, and collaborating on curriculum enhancement, ensuring students gain hands‑on experience applicable to industries like healthcare and automotive.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality instruction in Computer Vision and related AI topics.
- Develop and maintain course materials, assessments, and laboratory content reflecting current advances in the field.
- Create a stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity and innovation.
- Supervise student projects and provide academic mentorship.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum design and teaching effectiveness.

This position requires a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated expertise in Computer Vision, Image Processing, and Deep Learning methods.
Experience with modern computer vision frameworks and tools (e.g., OpenCV, PyTorch, Tensor Flow).
Strong commitment to excellence in teaching and student engagement.

Proven teaching or training experience at the undergraduate or graduate level (or equivalent professional training experience)
