Job Description

An Assistant Teacher plays a crucial role in the educational development and well-being of students. This position supports the lead teacher by assisting with lesson plans, classroom management, and providing students with individualized attention to foster their academic growth. As an Assistant Teacher, you will help create a supportive and nurturing learning environment. This often requires working closely with students, parents, and other educators to ensure that each child receives the instruction and care they need.

• Assist the lead teacher with planning and implementing daily lesson plans.
• Provide one‑on‑one support to students requiring additional assistance.
• Help maintain classroom discipline and manage student behavior effectively.
• Collaborate with the lead teacher to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Prepare and organize classroom materials and educational resources.
• Assist with grading assignments and tracking student progress accurately.
• Supervise students during transitions, recess, and other school activities.
• Engage with parents and guardians to discuss student performance and behavior.
• Support students with special needs by employing tailored instructional methods.
• Help in organizing and participating in field trips and school events.
• Ensure the classroom is clean and safe for students daily.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities regularly.

• High school diploma or equivalent educational qualifications are required.
• Prior experience in a classroom or educational setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students.
• Basic understanding of child development and educational principles.
  
  Patience and adaptability to work with children of varying abilities.
• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with teachers.
• Must pass a background check and obtain any necessary clearances.
