Job Description
Aldar Education is currently seeking an outstanding Teacher of Biology (A‑Level) for Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi, commencing the next academic year 2026‑2027.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the academy in achieving its overall vision and strategic intentions, contributing to the achievement of relevant targets set out in the academy’s improvement plan and self‑evaluation form.
  • Comply with regulations pertaining to health and safety at work legislation and academy policies relating to safe working practice and equal opportunities regulations.
  • Comply with the academy’s Performance Management Policy, ensuring challenging annual targets are set and, if directed by the Principal, fulfil the role of performance management reviewer.
  • Engage in annual training linked to child protection, safeguarding and health and safety, together with all training deemed appropriate for academy improvement or performance management.
  • Attend all staff briefings.
  • Create a climate conducive to outstanding learning and teaching.
  • Identify clear teaching objectives and specify how they will be taught and assessed.
  • Set tasks that challenge students and ensure high levels of interest.
  • Set clear targets, building on prior attainment.
  • Identify SEN or very able students.
  • Provide clear structures for lessons, maintaining pace, motivation and challenge.
  • Make effective use of assessment and ensure coverage of programmes of study.
  • Use performance data and key indicators to inform planning, delivering differentiated learning matched to need.
  • Ensure effective teaching and best use of available time.
  • Maintain an effective learning environment in accordance with the academy's procedures, encouraging good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homework.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to match approach to content, structure information, present key ideas, and use appropriate vocabulary.
  • Use effective questioning, listen carefully to students, give attention to errors and misconceptions.
  • Select appropriate learning resources and develop study skills through library, ICT and other learning technologies.
  • Ensure students acquire and consolidate knowledge, skills and understanding appropriate to the subject taught.
  • Evaluate own teaching critically to improve effectiveness.
  • Mark and monitor students' work and set targets for progress.
  • Assess and record students' progress systematically, keeping records to check work is understood and completed, monitoring strengths and areas for development, informing planning and recognising the level at which the student is achieving.
  • Undertake assessment of students as requested by examination bodies, departmental and academy procedures.
