Assistant Associate Professor In Economic Entomology

Job Description

The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine at the UAE University seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor in Economic Entomology to join the Department of Integrative Agriculture. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research and community service in the areas of insect biology, integrated pest management, insect ecology and applied entomology with a focus on agricultural systems.

• Experience delivering undergraduate and graduate courses in the required field of expertise and related subjects.
• Ability to supervise students' research projects and theses.
• Key role in strengthening the department’s teaching programs and advancing research addressing pest management, insect–plant interactions, biological control, pollinator health and the impact of insects on food security and sustainability in arid regions.

• Experience in integrated pest management (IPM), sustainable crop protection, insect taxonomy, environmentally friendly pest control strategies relevant to arid and semi-arid environments.
• Familiarity with plant pathology and the use of modern tools and technologies in applied entomology.

• Hold a permanent faculty position (teaching, research and community service).
• Primary responsibilities include teaching lecture and laboratory courses in entomology and pest management, advising undergraduate students and supervising graduate-level research.
