Aldar Academies are currently seeking an outstanding Teacher - Primary with responsibility for Head of Year for Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi, commencing August 2026.

- Leadership:
- Contribute to the whole school vision and the strategic direction of the school.
- Lead team and planning meetings to ensure the team is well informed, organised and successful.
- Ensure learning opportunities are innovative, purposeful and challenging across all curriculum areas.
- Promote pastoral care and well‑being of children within the year group, ensuring all systems and procedures are followed.
- Effectively line‑manage a team of teachers and teaching assistants to ensure they meet UAE Professional Teacher Standards.
- Contribute to the school’s monitoring, evaluating and reporting processes and quality assurance.
- Contribute to the school’s professional development cycle, helping to upskill and share good practice.
- Actively participate in the bespoke Middle Leader training programme.
- Teaching and learning:
- Teach all areas of the Primary English National Curriculum.
- Organise classroom, learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive learning environment and support the development of the USP.
- Plan, prepare and present lessons catering for the whole ability range.
- Provide support and interventions for students with EAL or additional learning needs.
- Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation.
- Evidence children’s work and learning in line with the Marking and Feedback policy.
- Reflect on lessons, assess student progress and adjust planning and curriculum accordingly.
- Meet with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists, if required.
- Embed the Teacher and Learner DNA language and attributes throughout the curriculum.
- Contribute to development of teaching and learning across the school by sharing best practice and participating in CPD.
- Demonstrate effective use of technology through innovative and creative lesson delivery.
- Assessment and data:
- Take responsibility for the attainment and progress of a class, ensuring above expected expectations.
- Meet requirements for assessment and recording using Learning Ladders.
- Use assessment data to influence planning and interventions.
- Provide regular feedback to parents and carers at Parent‑Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
- Plan, prepare and contribute to termly Pupil Progress meetings.
- Behaviour management and duties:
- Follow the behaviour management policy and promote the TRACK Values to set high expectations.
- Manage classes effectively, using appropriate approaches to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
- Maintain good relationships with pupils and parents and follow procedures to manage or challenge any rare occurrences of unwanted behaviour.
- Be a positive role model demonstrating the positive attitudes, values and behaviour expected of pupils.
- Carry out playground and other duties punctually, interactively and proactively.
- Ensure concerns relating to behaviour and safeguarding are accurately followed up and logged on CPOMS.
- A Bachelor degree in Education or a related subject with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in the English National Curriculum.
- Leadership experience desirable.
- Teaching across the age ability range with proven success.
- Passion for education, teaching and belief in every student’s potential.
- Ability to work under pressure, problem‑solve and be resilient.
- Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).
- Experience working in more than one International School desirable.
