Head of Performing Arts; Drama Specialist

Position

Aldar Education is seeking a Head of Performing Arts – Drama Specialist to join Yasmina British Academy, Abu Dhabi, for the Academic Year
2026‑2027.

• Lead the Performing Arts department and teach Drama up to A‑Level.
• Provide oversight of the Music programme, working closely with the Head of Music.
• Implement effective strategies to raise standards, plug gaps in learning, and deliver outstanding progress for all students.
• Demonstrate leadership at all levels and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Support the school’s vision, ethos, and values, and promote a positive school culture.

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a BSc with PGCE or equivalent.
• At least 3years of teaching experience, including 3consecutive years of performance exceeding standards and expectations (as evidenced by performance appraisal).
• Extensive experience in a middle leadership role, leading school initiatives that improved standards and achievement.
• Experience working with parents and external agencies.
• Minimum 1year in the same role.
• Commitment to nurturing and promoting the school vision.
• Proven track record of positive behaviours and values.
• Dynamic, solution‑based approach to leadership.
• Excellent communication and ability to lead change and school development.
• Ability to lead large, diverse groups of people and stakeholders under pressure.
• Professionalism and consideration for the well‑being of all stakeholders, including students whose English is not their first language.
• Recent and consistent involvement in extra‑curricular activities.
• Respect for all members of the school community, regardless of position, gender, age, or ethnic background.
• Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.
