Guidance Counsellor

The School Counsellor Career Guidance provides students with individualized support as they explore interests, set goals, and prepare for post‑secondary pathways. This role helps students make informed decisions about their academic journey and future career options while promoting overall well‑being and confidence.

• Provide one on one career and academic counseling to help students identify strengths, interests, and goals.
• Guide students in exploring college, university, vocational, and employment pathways.
• Assist students with course planning, application preparation, and interview readiness.
• Facilitate workshops and information sessions on career exploration, study skills, and post‑secondary options.
• Use assessment tools to help students understand their aptitudes and preferences.
• Maintain accurate student records and develop individualized guidance plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success.
• Build relationships with higher education institutions, training providers, and community partners.
• Identify students who may need additional support and refer them to relevant resources.

• Master’s Degree in Counselling.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a counselling or career guidance role.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
• Experience working with adolescents in an educational environment.
• Ability to support students from diverse cultural and academic backgrounds.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Experience with career assessment tools or academic planning software.
• Background in college admissions, vocational education, or career development programs.
• Experience delivering workshops or group sessions.
