Job Description
The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a full-time faculty position. Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments. The position seeks a candidate to build a reputable independent research program in Aerospace Structure & Design, with a focus on high-performance aerospace hybrid materials and structural systems, multidisciplinary design optimization, structural health monitoring of lightweight structures, composite materials, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
The successful candidate will develop and lead a sustainable, innovative independent research program, publish impactful research in top-ranked refereed journals, and build national and international reputation to elevate UAEU’s standing. Strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching and education, including course development, student mentorship, and advising, is required. The candidate will have access to advanced laboratory facilities, internal research funding opportunities, and collaboration with Centers of Excellence.
English is the language of instruction and communication. The start date is August 2024 or January 2025.
- Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field from an internationally recognized university at the time of appointment or shortly thereafter.
- Research track record commensurate with the rank applied for.
- Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses is a must.
- B.Sc./B.Eng. degree in Aerospace Engineering preferred.
- Industrial and professional experience is a plus.
- Expertise in Aerospace Structure & Design, particularly in high-performance aerospace hybrid materials, structural systems, multidisciplinary design optimization, structural health monitoring, lightweight structures, composite materials, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Develop and lead a sustainable, innovative independent research program.
- Publish impactful research in top-ranked, field-related refereed journals.

- Dedication to teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering.
