Teacher – Design and Technology (Textiles)

Aldar Education is currently seeking an outstanding Teacher – Design and Technology (Textiles) for Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing August 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed and achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Teamwork and collaboration: work with fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons that meet the curriculum requirements.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels and develop positive relationships with the school community.
  • Engage parents to ensure the happiness and best academic outcomes for all children.
  • Cooperate with curriculum support staff to support children’s development.
Teaching and Learning
  • Clear understanding of the curriculum.
  • Plan, prepare and present sessions that cater for the full ability range within the class.
  • Collaborate with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and educational psychologists, if required.
  • Embed Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout the curriculum.
Assessment and Data
  • Take responsibility for the progress of a class.
  • Meet requirements for assessment and recording of student development using Target Tracker.
  • Use assessment data to influence further planning, provision and intervention.
  • Provide feedback to parents and carers at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
Behaviour Management and Duties
  • Follow the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Manage classes effectively, using approaches appropriate to students’ needs to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
  • Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercise appropriate authority and act decisively when necessary within the school’s behavioural policy.
  • Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the values and behaviour expected of pupils.
Wider Professional Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources and special events.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding student achievements and well‑being using school systems such as CPOMS where appropriate.
  • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
  • Run a weekly ECA each term.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualification:

    Bachelor degree in Education or related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Minimum Experience:

    Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in the English National Curriculum.

    Skills:

    Teaching across the age ability range with proven success; passion for education, teaching and belief in every student’s potential; ability to work under pressure, problem‑solve and be resilient; commitment to continuing professional development (CPD); experience working in more than one International School desirable.
