Position: Teacher - Social Studies - Mamoura British Academy (AY 26/27)

We are seeking an outstanding Teacher – Social Studies for Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi, commencing August 2026. Mamoura British Academy is a British curriculum, mixed‑gender school located in a state‑of‑the‑art building in the heart of Abu Dhabi. Responsibilities
  • Deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed and achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, participating in teamwork and curriculum planning.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels and build positive relationships with the school community.
  • Plan engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements and support the whole ability range within the class.
  • Create a positive, engaging learning environment by organising classroom provision, resources, and displays.
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic and imaginative teaching.
  • Observe and assess students in line with school assessments and provide regular feedback.
  • Reflect on classroom provision, sessions taught, and student progress; adjust planning and curriculum accordingly.
  • Collaborate with support staff and external professionals (speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists) as required.
  • Embed the Bateen World Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes throughout the curriculum.
Assessment and Data
  • Take responsibility for the progress of the class.
  • Record student development using Target Tracker and meet assessment requirements.
  • Use assessment data to inform further planning, provision, and intervention.
  • Provide feedback on student progress at Parent‑Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
Behaviour Management
  • Follow the school's behaviour policy and manage classes effectively using appropriate approaches.
  • Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercising appropriate authority and acting decisively when necessary.
  • Be a positive role model, demonstrating the attitudes, values, and behaviour expected of pupils.
  • Promote self‑control and independence; uphold high behavioural expectations.
  • Carry out duties as directed and within the school's policy.
Wider Professional Responsibilities
  • Contribute to curriculum action groups, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events.
  • Assist in organising and participating in school events, outings, and activities, including weekends and evenings.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding student achievements and well‑being using systems such as CPOMS.
  • Run a weekly after‑school club each term.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject with PGCE or other teaching qualification.

Minimum Experience:

  • 1–2 years of teaching experience.
