Roles and Responsibilities
A Primary Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality learning experiences that support the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of students.
Teaching all core subjects of English, Maths and Science for Grades 1 to 5.
KeyRoles and Responsibilities 1. Teaching and Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the school’s curriculum.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and educational resources to enhance student learning.
- Assess, record, and monitor student progress regularly.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their learning and development.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement and attendance.
- Prepare student reports and participate in parent‑teacher meetings.
- Establish and maintain high standards of behaviour and discipline.
- Promote respect, responsibility, and positive relationships among students.
- Ensure a safe, secure, and supportive classroom environment.
- Support the emotional, social, and personal development of students.
- Identify and address learning, behavioural, or welfare concerns.
- Follow all safeguarding, child protection, health, and safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and well‑being.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and school leadership.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and school events.
- Stay updated with current educational practices and curriculum developments.
- Uphold the school’s vision, values, policies, and professional standards.
- Contribute positively to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and school initiatives.
- Supervise students during lessons, breaks, assemblies, and school activities.
- Prepare teaching materials and learning resources.
- Participate in curriculum planning and school improvement initiatives.
- Carry out any other duties reasonably assigned by the Principal or School Leadership Team.
- Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, with English proficiency equivalent to an IELTS Band score of 7.
