About the Role
The Instructional Designer is responsible for developing high-quality training materials and learning content in line with the programme curriculum and Systems Approach to Training (SAT) methodology.
Responsibilities- Design and develop lesson plans, training materials, presentations and learner resources aligned to approved curriculum and learning objectives.
- Apply instructional design principles and SAT methodology to ensure effective learning structure, sequencing and delivery.
- Work closely with subject matter experts to translate technical and operational content into structured training materials.
- Support the design of assessments, ensuring alignment with learning outcomes and performance standards.
- Ensure all materials are developed in line with approved templates, formatting standards and quality requirements (e.g. ESAT compliance where applicable).
- Maintain version control and organisation of training materials, ensuring updates are tracked and implemented.
- Higher education qualification in relevant field of study.
- Degree in education, instructional design or related field preferred.
- Experience in military or defence training environments and on large‑scale training programmes.
- SAT or equivalent certification.
