AlDard Education is seeking a Career and University Guidance Counsellor to join Al Ghad Charter School, Abu Dhabi, for the academic year .

Responsibilities- Help students evaluate their abilities, interests, talents, and personalities to develop realistic academic and career goals.
- Provide guidance on university choices, career pathways, and skills for future success.
- Track and assess student progress, offering tailored support to achieve academic goals and career aspirations.
- Facilitate a smooth post‑secondary transition, assisting with university applications, career planning, and preparation for life beyond school.
- Undertake additional school duties such as ECA involvement.
- Participate in ongoing CPD as expected by the school.
- Implement the school’s CU guidance policy and program, ensuring students receive appropriate guidance regarding their post‑secondary education and career aspirations.
- Understand students’ career aspirations from Cycle 2 forward; guide on planning and aligning student portfolios to meet these aspirations, including subject choices and extracurricular activities.
- Help students identify suitable local and international post‑secondary options and ensure submission of at least one application.
- Engage with parents throughout the guidance process, emphasizing student agency.
- Provide full administrative support for post‑secondary applications, including writing recommendation letters and reviewing personal statements.
- Develop relationships with local post‑secondary institutions to facilitate admissions visits and internships.
- Engage in professional development activities to stay updated and effective.
- Support gifted and talented students and those with additional learning needs, exploring alternative pathways and facilitating scholarships and mentorship opportunities.
- Organise CU guidance events and maintain a calendar of key dates.
- Plan and coordinate career and university guidance events to provide students with exploration and decision‑making opportunities.
- Maintain alumni connections to track pathways.
- Minimum: QFE 7 (Bachelor’s Degree) in any subject and meeting Continuous Professional Development requirements, or a QFE 7 (Bachelor’s Degree) and experience as a former or current teacher/educator.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in school counselling or related counselling experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills with students and parents.
- Demonstrable organisational skills.
- Strong desire to help others; ability to inspire respect, trust and confidence.
- High emotional and physical energy to handle a variety of problems.
- Maintains confidentiality and professionalism at the highest level.
