KeyDuties and Responsibilities
- Use excellent subject knowledge, pedagogic, and interpersonal skills to enthuse students and enable them to enjoy learning.
- Plan lessons taking into full account each student's individual learning needs, styles, preferences, and capabilities.
- Deliver a programme of learning opportunities and activities to enrich and enhance the taught curriculum.
- Engage and motivate students to achieve at levels beyond their expectations and previous limits.
- Encourage and enable all students to become effective, confident, and independent life‑long learners.
- Make full use of ICT and new technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for students of all ages and attainment levels.
- Observe, assess, and record each child's progress as per school policy.
- Ensure the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities.
- Co‑operate with colleagues to establish and maintain fair, consistent, and positive behaviour management in the classroom around the school and on school trips.
- Communicate openly and professionally with parents on a regular basis about the attainment and progress of their child, maintaining high levels of confidentiality.
- Contribute to and plan after‑school activities as required.
- Actively support the school partnership with the community by attending events, which may occasionally occur at weekends or in the evening.
- Maintain excellent professional relationships with colleagues and contribute to the continuing improvement of the school.
- Participate in ongoing in‑service and education development opportunities.
- Represent yourself as a school ambassador and maintain a professional image.
- Embed UAE heritage and culture within the curriculum.
- Plan and prepare schemes of work and complete planning documentation.
- Teach with consistent effectiveness in your classes, taking into account all students' individual educational needs.
- Set and mark work to be completed by students at school and at home, as appropriate.
- Record and report on the personal and social needs of students.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Provide or contribute to oral and written assessments, reports, and references for individual students or groups.
- Guide students to set targets to improve on their previous best.
- Advise and cooperate with the school leadership team and other colleagues on course development, teaching materials, teaching schemes, methods of teaching and assessment, and pastoral arrangements.
- Participate in arrangements for further training and professional development.
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., Qualified Teacher Status).
- Preferably two years of teaching experience.
- Native English speaker or able to demonstrate an IELTS level of 6 or higher.
- Experience in the American curriculum is an advantage.
- Prior experience of teaching in an international setting is an advantage.
- Demonstrated professionalism, commitment, and integrity.
- Inter‑culturally aware with well‑developed communication skills.
- Innovative, motivated, resourceful, flexible, patient, and perseverant.
- Outgoing, positive, and enthusiastic.
- Excellent spoken communication skills and the ability to encourage and calm others.
- Candidate must be a Certified Teacher.
- Minimum education:
Bachelor’s degree. - Teaching experience: 2+ years.
- Teaching credential or licence required.
