Aldar Education is currently seeking a Classroom Assistant (UAE National) for Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing August 2026. Mamoura British Academy is a British curriculum school with a Lower, Middle and Senior School model located in a state‑of‑the‑art building in the heart of Abu Dhabi. Responsibilities Main Duties- Provide support for individual pupils and groups inside and outside the classroom so they can fully participate in a range of activities during the school day and support their social, emotional and physical well‑being.
- Be pro‑active in matters relating to health and safety.
- Assist in the implementation of individual education programmes and help monitor their progress.
- Support pupils with additional support needs such as emotional and behavioural difficulties and help develop their social skills.
- Assist class teachers with maintaining pupil records.
- Prepare and present displays of pupils’ work.
- Support class teachers in photocopying and other tasks to support teaching.
- Support the aims of the school and comply with health and safety, relevant legislation and school policies.
- Academic assistance.
- Giving group instruction as prescribed by the teacher and providing individual instruction.
- Demonstrating various instructional activities.
- Monitoring teachers’ assigned work—checking and correcting pupils’ work while in progress.
- Keeping pupils on task.
- Praising and reinforcing achievements of pupils and reporting pupil progress to teachers.
- Reorganising materials at the end of the day.
- Checking attendance.
- Supervising pupils in classrooms and other locations.
- Participating in the development of the behaviour policy and promoting pupils’ self‑esteem.
- Disciplining misbehaviour in line with the whole‑school policy.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum secondary school certificate.
- At least two years of experience in a school setting.
- English language skills according to the school curriculum.
- UAE National with a minimum secondary school certificate or bachelor’s degree.
- Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
- Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
- A high level of professionalism and consideration for the well‑being of children.
- Recent and consistent involvement in extra‑curricular activities.
- Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age and ethnic background.
- A positive and solution‑focused attitude to working life.
- A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.
