We are currently seeking an outstanding Teacher - Upper Key Stage 2 with a specialism in English and Reading for Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing August 2026.

B. Leadership:
  • Contribute to the whole school vision and the strategic direction of the school.
  • Lead team and planning meetings to ensure that the team is well informed, organised and successful.
  • Effectively line manage a team of teachers and teaching assistants to ensure they are performing successfully against the UAE Professional Teacher Standards.
  • Contribute to the school’s Monitoring, Evaluating and Reporting processes and quality assure all aspects of provision within the year group to ensure we are consistently promoting high standards and expectations.
  • Contribute to the school’s Professional Development cycle helping to upskill and share good practice amongst fellow teachers.
  • Actively participate in the school’s bespoke Middle Leader training programme.
C. Teaching and learning:
  • To be able to teach all areas of the Primary English National Curriculum with a focus on Maths and Science across Year 5 or Year 6.
  • Organising the classroom, learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment and support the development of the Mamoura British Academy USP in this area.
  • Providing support and interventions for students with EAL or who have additional learning needs.
  • Evidencing children’s work and learning in line with the Mamoura British Academy Marking and Feedback policy.
  • Being reflective of lessons taught and student progress, and adjusting planning, curriculum and continuous provision to reflect this.
  • Ensuring that the Mamoura British Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attributes are being embedded throughout the curriculum.
  • Contribute to the development of teaching and learning across the school by sharing best practice, participating in school CPD and T&L initiatives.
  • To be able to demonstrate effective use of technology through innovative and creative lesson delivery and continuous provision.
D. Assessment and data:
  • Taking responsibility for the attainment and progress of all children to ensure that they reach above expected expectations.
  • Using data provided by assessments to influence further planning and interventions.
  • Providing regular feedback to parents and carers on a student’s progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
  • To plan, prepare and contribute to termly Pupil Progress meetings.
E. Behaviour management and duties:
  • To follow the Mamoura British Academy behaviour management policy and promote the TRACK Values to set high expectations.
  • Manage classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to pupils’ needs in order to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
  • Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values and behaviour which are expected of pupils.
  • Carry out playground and other duties in a punctual, interactive and proactive manner.
  • Ensure that any concerns relating to behaviour & Safeguarding are accurately followed up on and logged on CPOMS.
F. Wider professional responsibilities
  • To work as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources and special events linked to that team.
  • Support with organising and taking part in school events, outings and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers with regards to student’s achievements and well-being using school systems/processes.
  • To run a weekly ECA each term to enhance the provision we offer for our students.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualification

  • A Bachelor degree in Education or Bachelor Degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in the English National Curriculum.
  • Leadership experience desirable
