About the Role
We are hiring a qualified and enthusiastic Homeroom Teacher year 5 and 6 primary teacher, mathematics specialist, British Curriculum upper primary teacher with a strong mathematics background to teach Years 5 and 6 within the British Curriculum at our well-established international level British curriculum school in Al Ain, UAE. Candidates must demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and a proven ability to raise student achievement in mathematics.
Primary teachers with significant experience teaching mathematics at the upper primary level are also encouraged to apply.
- Deliver engaging Year5‑6 lessons aligned with the British Curriculum and teach high‑quality mathematics lessons.
- Prepare students for academic progression through effective assessment and targeted intervention.
- Monitor student performance and provide regular feedback.
- Promote an engaging, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support student success.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning.
- Support children’s academic, emotional, social, physical, and creative development.
- Observe, assess, and monitor children’s progress, maintaining accurate learning records.
- Differentiated learning activities to meet individual developmental needs.
- Encourage curiosity, creativity, communication, and independent thinking.
- Establish positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- Maintain effective classroom management and positive behaviour strategies.
- Participate in school events, meetings, parent consultations, and professional development activities.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, child protection, health and safety policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or Bachelor's degree plus PGCE/PGDE (or equivalent).
- Minimum two years teaching the British Curriculum (preferred).
- Strong mathematics teaching experience in Years5 and
6. - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching licence.
- UAE experience not required.

- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to create engaging and interactive learning experiences.
- Effective assessment and progress monitoring skills.
- Strong organisational and planning abilities.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Proficient in using educational technology to enhance learning.

- Nationality preference: UK, Ireland, South Africa, or other Western native English‑speaking countries.
