Overview

Aldar Academies is seeking an outstanding Arabic and Islamic Teacher (Native and Non‑Native) for Al Muna Academy in Abu Dhabi, commencing the next Academic Year 2026 - 2027. Al Muna Academy is in the heart of the city of Abu Dhabi and was recently rated Outstanding by ADEK – Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge. ADEK serves over 700 students from Nursery to Year 6, following the National Curriculum of England.

• Teaching and Learning
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Curriculum for effective implementation to match learning outcomes.
  • Teach using appropriate MOE syllabus materials and schemes of work.
  • Organize classroom provision and learning resources, creating displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Plan, prepare, and present sessions that cater to the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
  • Plan MOE lessons and sequences consistently and effectively in the long, medium and short term to meet pupils’ individual learning needs.
  • Create a climate for learning that is conducive to delivering outstanding practice.
  • Motivate students by delivering enjoyable and creative lessons that challenge pupils and promote critical thinking.
  • Observe and assess pupils in line with school assessments.
  • Reflect on classroom provision, sessions taught, progress made, and adjust environment, planning and curriculum accordingly.
  • Support SEN, POD, EAL and G&T students, ensuring their needs are met through differentiation.
  • Collaborate with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists when required.
  • Facilitate hybrid, distance learning and face‑to‑face lessons.
  • Ensure that the Al Muna Academy language for learning and attitudes are embedded throughout the curriculum.
• Assessment and Data
  • Take responsibility for student progress of the class.
  • Use data relating to students’ prior attainment to set well‑grounded expectations and targets.
  • Monitor progress and give clear constructive feedback.
  • Record students’ development using Target Tracker.
  • Use assessment data to inform decisions regarding further planning, provision and interventions.
  • Provide feedback to parents and carers on students’ progress and development at Parent‑Teacher conferences and meetings (PTMs).
• Behaviour Management and Duties
  • Follow the school’s established policies and procedures, e.g., behaviour code of conduct and child safeguarding policy.
  • Manage classes effectively with approaches appropriate to students’ needs to inspire, motivate and challenge pupils.
  • Maintain good relationships with pupils and exercise appropriate authority.
  • Act decisively when necessary within school policies.
  • Act as a positive role‑model, demonstrating consistent positive attitudes, values and behaviour.
  • Promote self‑control, independence and a safe, secure environment for social, emotional and academic growth.
• Wider Professional Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a curriculum action group supporting planning, assessment, resources and special events.
  • Support organizing and taking part in school events, outings and extra‑curricular activities (ECAs).
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding student achievements and well‑being via platforms such as CPOMS.
  • Contribute positively to the wider life and ethos of the school.
  • Run a weekly ECA each term.
  • Initiate own professional development to secure high‑quality teaching.

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, specializing in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies and/or a post‑teaching qualification.
• A minimum of 1‑2 years of experience in a similar role.
