Position: Early Years Teacher (Kindergarten)

Learning and Teaching

Plan and deliver outstanding Early Years learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework and school curriculum requirements.

Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that supports children’s development and well-being.

Promote children’s curiosity, creativity, independence and confidence through play‑based and child‑centred learning.

Ensure high‑quality education attainment and progress for all children.

  • Observe, assess, track, monitor, evaluate and document children’s learning and developmental progress.
  • Differentiate learning opportunities to meet the needs of all learners including higher and lower attaining children, EAL students, SEN students, Emirati students, and Gifted & Talented pupils.
  • Use a range of assessment strategies to inform planning and personalise learning experiences.
  • Foster the development of communication, literacy, numeracy, social, emotional and physical skills.
  • Support children’s transition into school and promote positive learning behaviours and routines.
  • Develop meaningful learning experiences that connect to children’s interests and real‑life contexts.
  • Create an inclusive environment where every child feels valued, respected and supported.

Take responsibility for implementing short, medium and long‑term planning in accordance with the Early Years curriculum.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and school improvement initiatives.

Undertake any other teaching duties and responsibilities deemed reasonable by the Principal.

Professional Skills and Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Early Childhood Education, Early Years Education, Primary Education with an Early Years specialism, or a related field is an essential requirement for this position.

Possession of a PGCE, teaching licence, or another recognised teaching qualification is desirable.

Applicants should also be able to demonstrate recent and relevant experience of:

  • Teaching in an Early Years or Kindergarten classroom.
  • Delivering outstanding Early Childhood Education practices.
  • Planning and implementing age‑appropriate, play‑based learning experiences.
  • Supporting children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs.
  • Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
  • Digital learning and the effective use of ICT in Early Years education.
  • Building positive relationships and engaging effectively with parents and families.
  • Behaviour management and child safeguarding/protection procedures.
  • Understanding child development milestones and assessment practices.
  • Knowledge of UAE school systems and culture (covered as part of induction for overseas teachers).
Personal Skills and Attributes
  • Demonstrate a high level of commitment, professionalism and integrity.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Have an excellent health and attendance record.
  • Be passionate about working with young children and supporting their individual development.
  • Be patient, caring, and responsive to children’s needs.
  • Be able to create and maintain effective partnerships with staff, school leadership, parents, students, and the wider school community.
  • Be able to work independently and use own initiative.
  • Seek advice and support when necessary.
  • Have excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Be committed to contributing to extracurricular and enrichment activities where appropriate.
  • Maintain a personal commitment to professional development linked to the competencies required for this role.

  • Demonstrate commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
