We are seeking a Design Technology teacher for Bateen World Academy, commencing in the 2024 academic year. Located in the center of Abu Dhabi, Bateen World Academy is a highly popular school in a vibrant community. The school is a high‑achieving British and IB World School recognized for excellence, consistently exceeding IB Diploma global averages and achieving outstanding IGCSE results. It offers the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) from FS1 to Year 6, the IB Diploma Programme (DP) and Career‑related Programme (CP) in Years 12 and 13, providing a seamless all‑through school experience from FS1 to Year 13 that combines the best of PYP, UK and IB pathways.

• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the IB Design Technology curriculum for effective implementation to match learning outcomes.
• Teach using appropriate syllabus, materials and schemes of work to develop students' skills in science specialisms.
• Organise classroom provision and learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Plan, prepare and present sessions that cater to the needs of the whole ability range within the class, consistently and effectively planning lessons in the long, medium and short term to meet pupils’ individual learning needs.
• Create a climate for learning conducive to outstanding practice.
• Motivate students by delivering enjoyable and creative lessons that challenge pupils and promote critical thinking.
• Identify clear teaching and learning objectives and ensure student achievement against these.
• Reflect on classroom provision, sessions taught and progress made, adjusting environment, planning and curriculum accordingly.
• Support SEN, POD, EAL and G&T students, ensuring their needs are met through differentiation.
• Facilitate hybrid, distance learning and face‑to‑face lessons.
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies, including the behaviour code of conduct and child safeguarding policy.
• Maintain good relationships with pupils, exercising appropriate authority and acting decisively when necessary within established policies.
• Be a positive role model, consistently demonstrating the attitudes, values and behaviours expected of pupils.
• Promote self‑control, independence and a safe, secure environment for all students’ social, emotional and academic growth.
• Carry out duties as directed and within the school’s established policies.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• A minimum of two years of experience working in a similar role, with mandatory experience in an international school.
• Experience working with EAL students.
