ADNOC Schools is currently seeking high‑performing Science Teachers for August 2026 start. The vacancy is based at ADNOC School – Ruwais Campus, located in the Western Region (Al Dhafra) of Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities
  • Creating a climate for learning conducive to outstanding practice
  • Identifying clear teaching and learning objectives
  • Setting tasks that challenge students and maintain high interest
  • Setting appropriate and demanding expectations
  • Setting clear targets, building on prior attainment
  • Identifying SEN or very able students and meeting their needs through differentiation
  • Providing clear structures for lessons that maintain pace, motivation and challenge
  • Using assessment for learning effectively
  • Using performance data and key indicators to inform planning and deliver differentiated lessons
  • Maintaining discipline in accordance with the school’s Behaviour for Learning Policy and encouraging good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work, and homework
  • Using a variety of teaching strategies to match approach to content, structure information, present key ideas, and use appropriate vocabulary
  • Using effective questioning, listening carefully to students, and giving attention to errors and misconceptions
  • Selecting appropriate learning resources and developing study skills through the library, ICT and other learning technologies
  • Assessing how well learning objectives have been achieved and using the results to improve teaching
  • Marking students’ work at least once every two weeks and setting targets for progress
  • Using performance data to inform planning and ensuring the learning and teaching continue to add value
  • Assessing and recording students’ progress systematically, keeping records to confirm understanding, monitoring strengths and development areas, informing planning, and recognising achievement level
  • Assessing students as requested by examination bodies, departmental and school procedures
  • Preparing and presenting informative reports to parents
  • Participating in subject development by producing, reviewing, and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
  • Keeping subject knowledge up‑to‑date through CPD and professional reading
  • Attending professional development workshops as appropriate
  • Undertaking additional duties as required by the Principal or Vice Principal
Qualifications
  • Fully qualified teacher (PGCE or equivalent) with a bachelor’s degree in science or a related subject
  • Minimum of two years teaching experience in the related field
  • Experience with the American curriculum
  • Commitment to an expansive enrichment programme
  • Recent and consistent involvement in extra‑curricular activities
  • Respect for all members of the school community
  • Experience with students for whom English is an additional language
  • Positive and solution‑focused attitude to work life
  • Clean Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services or Police check
