Adjunct Faculty Assistant​/Associate Professor - Physics

The Department of Environmental Sciences and Sustainability is seeking qualified candidates to teach Physics at our Abu Dhabi campus, starting in August 2026.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching general physics courses, developing curriculum plans to enhance student learning, facilitating class discussions, ensuring student engagement, maintaining class records, and assessing student coursework. Collaboration with colleagues on research interests and co-curricular activities is also expected. The candidate will typically report to the department head.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or terminal degree in any field of Physics. Candidates should have experience teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels and contribute to research in a specialized field. A strong record of teaching is essential. While adjunct positions primarily focus on teaching, there may also be opportunities for Physics-related research.

The Department of Environmental Sciences and Sustainability in the College of Natural and Health Sciences (CNHS) at Zayed University (ZU) offers both undergraduate and graduate programs designed to meet the UAE’s expanding environmental and sustainability needs. The undergraduate program provides a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Science and Sustainability (ESS), established to address the complex and intertwined requirements of modern society while fostering a sustainable relationship with the natural environment.

This high-quality, interdisciplinary program is accredited by The Community for Environmental Disciplines in Higher Education (CEDHE). Additionally, the department offers a Master of Science in Environment and Sustainability Sciences, responding to the growing demand for research and advanced studies. This graduate program focuses on national priorities, including the maintenance of safe and healthy living and working environments, to support the UAE's sustainability goals.

Applicants must hold a terminal degree in the relevant field, recognized or eligible for recognition by the UAE's Ministry of Education. The successful candidate will have a proven record of excellent teaching and will be expected to teach both introductory and advanced-level courses. Research experience is considered an asset.

Candidates should be adaptable, capable of teaching a variety of courses, including co-requisite labs, within their discipline. The ideal candidate will demonstrate versatility, forward-thinking, and innovative approaches to engaging students in both classroom and laboratory settings.
