International Community Schools (ICS) at our Al Falah City campus is seeking an inspiring and dedicated Islamic Teacher for Non-Arabs to join our Academic Department. This pivotal role involves delivering engaging Islamic Studies education to our diverse student body in Cycle 1 and Cycle 2, fostering spiritual growth and cultural understanding within the framework of the American curriculum.

1. Qualifications &

Certifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Islamic Studies, Sharia, Quranic Sciences, or a closely related field from an accredited university.

A recognized teaching qualification or certification (e.g.,

B.Ed, PGCE, or equivalent teaching license) is essential.

All academic degrees and qualifications must be attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and possess equivalency from the UAE Ministry of Education for foreign degrees.

IELTS score of 5.5 or above is required.

2. Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 2-3 years of full-time teaching experience in Islamic Studies, specifically catering to non-Arab students.

Demonstrated experience teaching within an American curriculum school setting (Common Core / US Standards) is mandatory.

Prior experience in the UAE or broader GCC region is highly advantageous.

Proven ability to effectively teach students across Cycle 1 (KG2-Grade
2) and Cycle 2 (Grade 3-Grade
5) age groups.

Pedagogical Expertise: Ability to implement differentiated instruction, utilize diverse teaching methodologies, and employ effective formative and summative assessment strategies for students with varying backgrounds and language proficiencies.

Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English are crucial for instructing non-Arabic speaking students and for effective collaboration with staff and parents.

Cultural Sensitivity: Strong understanding and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds, particularly within an international school environment.

Classroom Management: Proven ability to create a positive, respectful, and disciplined learning environment conducive to spiritual and academic growth.

Technology Integration: Proficiency in utilizing educational technology and digital resources to enhance and support learning outcomes.

Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a professional team, contributing positively to the school community.

Pastoral Care: A genuine commitment to the holistic development and well-being of students.

4. Knowledge of Curriculum:

In-depth knowledge of Islamic principles, Quranic teachings, Hadith, Seerah, and Fiqh, specifically adapted for non-native Arabic speakers and diverse learning needs.

Profound understanding of the AMERICAN CURRICULUM framework (Common Core / US Standards), including its pedagogical approaches, learning objectives, assessment practices, and classroom methodologies.

Ability to seamlessly integrate and deliver Islamic Studies content within the overarching structure and philosophy of an American educational system.

5. UAE-Specific Requirements:

ADEK Compliance: Eligibility for, or possession of, an ADEK Teacher License is mandatory. Candidates must meet all requirements set by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK).

Good Standing Certificate: Provision of a recent police clearance certificate from your country of origin and any country you have resided in for the past five years.

Medical Fitness: Successful completion of a medical fitness examination as per UAE regulations.

Cultural Awareness: Demonstrated respect for and understanding of UAE culture, traditions, and Islamic values.
