Librarian for Indian Community in Abu-Dhabi

As a Librarian for the Indian community in Abu Dhabi, you will be responsible for managing and organizing the library's collection of books, magazines, and other materials. You will work closely with members of the community to provide access to educational and cultural resources that reflect their interests and needs. This is a part-time position with accommodation provided.

• Manage and organize the library's collection, including cataloging, shelving, and weeding out outdated or damaged items
• Develop and maintain relationships with members of the Indian community to understand their information needs
• Plan and implement educational and cultural programs that promote literacy, learning, and diversity
• Assist patrons in finding and accessing materials through effective reference services
• Utilize technology to enhance library services, including online databases, e-books, and other digital resources
• Train volunteers to assist with library operations as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
• Experience working in a library setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of Indian literature, culture, and history
• Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Hindi or other Indian languages is a plus
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a diverse community
• Proficiency in using technology for library services

1700$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
