Aldar Education is currently seeking an outstanding Science Technician (UAE National) for Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing August 2026. Mamoura British Academy is a British curriculum, mixed gender school. It is located in a state-of-the-art building in the heart of Abu Dhabi. Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance, preparation, and cleaning of laboratory equipment
  • Organisation and maintenance of efficient storage systems for equipment and materials
  • Prepare and provide equipment for lessons.
  • Preparation of laboratory solutions
  • Stock control including preparing lists of replacements as required.
  • Assist with completing and collating of the annual order for the Science Department.
  • Assist with Reprographic work as required.
  • To undertake such other duties as may reasonably be determined by the Head of Science / Senior Science Technician.
With all School Staff
  • Assist school in achieving its overall vision and strategic intentions and to contribute to the achievement of relevant targets as set out in the school’s improvement plan and self-evaluation form
  • Comply with regulations pertaining to health and safety at work legislation and adhere to school policies relating to safe working practice and equal opportunities regulations.
  • Comply with the school’s Performance Management Policy ensuring challenging annual targets are set and to fulfil the role of performance management reviewer if directed to do so by the Principal.
  • Engage in annual training linked to child protection, safeguarding and health and safety together with all training deemed appropriate for the purpose of school improvement or performance management.
  • Comply with the school’s staff dress code at all times including the wearing of photo  / lanyard
  • Comply with the school’s computer Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) at all times.
  • Attend all staff briefings.
  • Sign out and sign in at relevant school reception if off site at any point during the normal working day.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • An “A” Level in Science would be an advantage.
  • Appreciation of the importance of high standards
Minimum Experience
  • Experience in similar role
  • Experience with working in an educational setup.
Job Specific Knowledge & Skills
  • Excellent literacy and communication skills (both written and spoken) as a large part of the role involves communicating with SLT, Heads of Department, students and parents.
  • Overall, the successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, solution focused professional who has a flexible approach to work, one who is willing to take initiative, work as part of a team in an high achieving organisation and hit the ground running
