International Community Schools, Abu Dhabi is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of English for Al Maharat Private School to join our team for the academic year 2026/27. Al Maharat Private School follows the British Curriculum and offers high-quality education in a supportive and dynamic environment. This position is based at the High/Secondary School level within the English and Literature department.

The Head of English will lead the development and delivery of the English curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across all secondary school levels. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff within the department, supporting student progress, and fostering a love for literature and language among students.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field (minimum requirement)
• At least 4 years’ teaching experience in an international or British curriculum setting
• Strong knowledge of UK National Curriculum requirements for Secondary Education
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams or departments preferred
• Excellent communication skills with ability to engage students effectively
• Ability to develop innovative lesson plans that cater to diverse learner needs
• Competent in using educational technology tools to enhance learning outcomes
