Role Context The Primary Teacher
- English Curriculum role supports high-quality teaching and learning across the primary phase by creating purposeful lessons, building strong classroom routines, and helping every learner make measurable progress. Working within Pearl British Academy, the teacher will use curriculum knowledge, assessment for learning, performance data, differentiation, and reflective practice to improve student outcomes. The position also requires collaboration with colleagues, communication with parents, contribution to curriculum development, and active participation in the wider life of the school.

• Plan and deliver outstanding primary lessons aligned with the English National Curriculum and the school's Teaching and Learning Policy.
• Create a positive classroom climate where students feel safe, motivated, challenged, and ready to learn.
• Identify clear teaching and learning objectives that build on prior attainment and support strong academic progress.
• Set meaningful learning targets and use assessment information to help students close gaps and improve performance.
• Differentiate lessons for students with SEN or POD needs, EAL learners, gifted and talented students, and mixed-ability groups.
• Design learning activities with clear structure, appropriate pace, challenge, and engagement.
• Use assessment for learning strategies to check understanding, adapt teaching, and guide student progress during lessons.
• Make effective use of performance data, assessment records, and key indicators to inform planning and classroom intervention.
• Use ICT confidently to enhance learning, improve engagement, and support progress across the curriculum.
• Maintain positive discipline in line with the school's Behaviour for Learning Policy.
• Encourage high standards of punctuality, behaviour, classwork, homework, presentation, and personal responsibility.
• Assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use outcomes to improve future teaching and learning.
• Mark student work regularly in line with the school's Marking Policy and provide clear targets for improvement.
• Record student progress systematically and maintain accurate evidence to support planning, reporting, and intervention.
• Complete assessments requested by examination bodies, department expectations, and school procedures where applicable.
• Prepare clear and informative reports for parents on student achievement, progress, attitude, and next steps.
• Attend and support parent meetings, student events, school activities, and community engagement opportunities.
• Contribute to subject development by helping produce, review, and update curriculum plans and schemes of work.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to share practice, strengthen curriculum delivery, and improve outcomes for all students.
• Demonstrate leadership qualities through initiative, teamwork, professional contribution, and support for school improvement.

• Bachelor degree in a related subject.
• PGCE or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a classroom teacher within the English Curriculum.
• Secure knowledge of the English National Curriculum and primary teaching expectations.
• Proven ability to raise standards, close learning gaps, and support outstanding progress for students.
