The Teacher
- Chemistry will plan and deliver high-quality lessons across the secondary and senior school phases, including IGCSE and A Level programmes. The role requires strong subject expertise, effective practical science instruction, accurate assessment, pastoral care, and close collaboration with department colleagues. By using performance data, differentiated teaching, and reflective classroom practice, the teacher will help students develop scientific knowledge, practical competence, analytical reasoning, and examination confidence.

The position also contributes to curriculum development, extracurricular activities, student wellbeing, and the wider life of Mamoura British Academy.

• Deliver engaging Chemistry lessons that inspire students and support excellent academic outcomes.
• Teach Chemistry in accordance with the British Curriculum, IGCSE, and A Level requirements.
• Develop students ' understanding of atomic structure, bonding, energetics, kinetics, equilibrium, organic chemistry, quantitative chemistry, and practical investigation.
• Plan lessons that balance scientific theory, experimentation, analysis, and examination preparation.
• Work collaboratively with department colleagues to develop schemes of work, assessments, resources, and intervention plans.
• Maintain excellent communication with students, parents, colleagues, and school leaders.
• Build positive relationships across the school community and contribute to a professional team culture.
• Work flexibly with curriculum support staff to address individual student needs.
• Act as a form tutor and provide consistent pastoral guidance to assigned students.
• Organize laboratory resources, classroom materials, and displays to create a stimulating learning environment.
• Plan teaching that caters for students across the full age and ability range.
• Use differentiated activities to provide appropriate support and academic challenge.
• Motivate students through enthusiastic teaching, practical demonstrations, inquiry-based learning, and real-world scientific applications.
• Ensure laboratory activities are planned and delivered safely.
• Apply school procedures for chemical handling, equipment use, risk assessment, storage, and disposal.
• Observe and assess students in accordance with the school 's Assessment Policy.
