- Psychology Maternity Cover for Bateen World Academy in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates, commencing January 2027. About the Role

Bateen World Academy is a British and IB World School in Abu Dhabi offering an all-through educational pathway from FS1 to Year 13. The school provides the IB Primary Years Programme from FS1 to Year 6, alongside UK pathways and the IB Diploma and Career-related Programmes in Years 12 and 13.

The Teacher
- Psychology Maternity Cover will establish a positive climate for learning, set clear teaching objectives, provide appropriate challenge, and use assessment evidence to ensure students make sustained progress.

Teaching and Learning
  • Create a learning environment that supports outstanding teaching and student achievement.
  • Identify clear teaching objectives and define how learning will be taught and assessed.
  • Set challenging tasks that maintain high levels of student interest and engagement.
  • Establish appropriate and demanding expectations for students.
  • Set clear learning targets based on prior attainment.
  • Identify students with special educational needs and those requiring additional academic challenge.
  • Structure lessons effectively to maintain pace, motivation, and challenge.
  • Make effective use of assessment while ensuring appropriate coverage of programmes of study.
  • Use performance data and key indicators to inform planning and differentiated learning.
  • Make effective use of available teaching time.
  • Maintain an effective learning environment in accordance with academy procedures.

Assessment and Student Progress
  • Mark and monitor student work and establish appropriate targets for progress.
  • Use performance data to inform future planning and strengthen learning outcomes.
