Role Context

The Inclusion Teacher will play a central role in ensuring that students with different learning needs can access the curriculum, participate confidently in school life, and make measurable progress. Working within Al Rayana Charter School 's American curriculum environment, the teacher will adapt planning, teaching methods, resources, and interventions to support a wide range of abilities. The position also requires close cooperation with classroom teachers, curriculum support staff, parents, and external professionals.

By combining specialist teaching with structured assessment and evidence-based intervention, the Inclusion Teacher will help strengthen both individual student outcomes and the wider inclusive culture of the school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver inclusive lessons that motivate students and support strong academic and personal outcomes.
  • Plan learning experiences that address different ability levels and individual educational needs.
  • Work alongside classroom teachers to develop engaging lessons aligned with curriculum requirements.
  • Adapt teaching approaches, materials, and resources to remove barriers to learning.
  • Organize classroom provision and learning resources to create a positive and accessible environment.
  • Prepare and present sessions that meet the needs of students across a broad ability range.
  • Use enthusiastic and imaginative teaching strategies to maintain student engagement.
  • Observe students carefully and assess progress in line with school procedures.
  • Reflect on lesson effectiveness, classroom provision, and student outcomes before adjusting future planning.
  • Use assessment findings to design targeted support and intervention.
  • Take responsibility for tracking the progress of assigned students or classes.
  • Record student development accurately using Target Tracker and other school systems.
  • Analyze assessment data to identify learning gaps and determine appropriate next steps.
  • Provide parents and carers with clear feedback on academic progress, achievement, and well‑being.
  • Participate in Parent Teacher Conferences and other progress meetings.
  • Meet with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and other professionals when required.
  • Coordinate with specialist professionals to ensure recommendations are incorporated into classroom support.
  • Maintain positive and respectful relationships with students across different learning needs.
  • Follow the school's behavior policy consistently.
  • Use behavior management approaches appropriate to individual student needs.
  • Promote self‑control, independence, resilience, and positive learning habits.
  • Act as a professional role model by demonstrating the values and behaviors expected from students.
